Alarm and Keyless Entry System Generation III built for your BMW E36 3-Series (1992-1999) fits: 316, 318i, 318iC, 318is, 318ti, 323iC, 323is, 325i, 325iC, 325is, 328i, 328iC, 328is, M3, M3 Convertible, and Right Hand (RH) models.
This 3rd Generation system protects your vehicle against theft and vandalism. With the push of a button on your flip key remote, this system will monitor the doors, hood, trunk, glass, towing and any vibration that is detected by the shock sensor. It also comes with the starter disable and fuel pump protection, and the flashing LED that warns away intruders. If the car is being violated the siren will be triggered, and the lights will flash. Plus it activates the double lock feature for added security.
As for the convenience, you will get to enjoy the keyless entry feature, which allows you to lock / unlock the doors and trunk with a push of a button using the stylish remotes. The best part about this system is that it plugs directly into your BMW alarm port** for easy installation.
**Most BMW's are pre-wired for a security system. Usually, there is a sticker inside the trunk which indicates if your BMW is pre-wired for a security system. Depending on the year and model of your vehicle, the alarm port will be located in the following areas, behind the glove box, under the rear seat, or other location.

***The key blanks will need to be cut at an automotive locksmith to match your BMW key. Our locksmith can cut these keys for ($39.95 for 2 keys). If your BMW is built before 1995, then these keys will function as your original key. If you BMW is built after 1995, then these keys will NOT start your BMW. A car alarm is an electronic device installed in a vehicle in an attempt to discourage theft of the vehicle itself, its contents, or both. Car alarms work by emitting high-volume sound (usually a siren, klaxon, pre-recorded verbal warning, the vehicle's own horn, or a combination thereof) when the conditions necessary for triggering are met, as well as by flashing some of the vehicle's lights, and (optionally) notifying the car's owner via a paging system and interrupting various electrical circuits necessary for the car to start. Car alarms should not be confused with immobilizers; although the purpose of both may be to deter car theft, they operate in a dissimilar fashion. An immobilizer generally will not offer any audible or visual theft deterrence, nor require any additional input from the driver than a non-immobilizer car. Car alarms can be designed to be triggered by vibrations, tilting o f the car (to prevent unauthorized towing), touching the car, the opening or closing of special switches (e.g. door contacts), sensing small but rapid changes in battery voltage (which might indicate an interior light going on, or the ignition circuit being activated), or using volumetric sensors such as ultrasound , infrared or microwave. Many times a car alarm can be triggered accidentally. This may be caused by the passing of large trucks, the vibration of thunder or people coming into contact with the vehicle, triggering the alarm sensors. Some sensors may need adjustment in order to prevent false alarms.
